Poem from the cycle „October in the Mountains“, with musical setting.
What is happiness? In her 17 „Meditations on Happiness“, Ilona Lay offers answers to this question that are inspired by an autumnal stay in the mountains. One example of this is the poem „The Eye of the Night“, which is presented here together with a musical setting.
The eye of the night
Happiness is the glistening eye of the night
floating in flickering curls of clouds
Happiness are the groping glances of the night
in the praying arms of the maple tree
Happiness is the magic scepter of the night
wandering on the awakening paths
Happiness is the glimmering eye of the night
in the gloomy swirls of the lake of time
